PortoBay Rio de Janeiro

Through our travel services, we were fortunate to have a reasonably good rate, with amazingly, a balcony overlooking the beach and mountains. Highly recommend the attentive staff and location! A little construction noise during the week but not bad

Liked: The staff were so helpful and kind! The rooftop view is awesome! The breakfast was great! They have beach chair service and the location is great for the beach! The room is clean and the bed comfortable.

Disliked: The balcony door does not lock and the noise from the street carries. They only have one single lock on the room door, I prefer a hook and eye latch for extra safety. The pool is very small and unfortunately the gym and sauna are closed for renovations but when they open again the view on the top floor will be great!

Liked: Location was good, across the street from the beach, amenities in the bathroom

Disliked: Room was very noisy at night, the additional towels requested were provided the first day, the other days we had to request them again, the hall was humid and there was construction in the room at end of hall, gym wS under construction

Liked: Guest friendly

Liked: Fantastic view from the rooftop bar, excellent breakfast, great location

Disliked: The hotel cancelled booking of a room my husband booked for his daughter, the day before we were arriving. We were given two different explanations. The first one was that his card was invalid, but it wasn’t true. The second was that the name on the card was different from the person for whom the room was booked. They actually have the same last name. The hotel said they called my husband about the booking but he didn’t have any missed calls on his phone

Liked: The breakfast was great and we enjoyed the evening meal. The restaurant has great views, but the rooftop pool and pool bar even better. The management and staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great, the beech and bars just accross the road and Ipanema, Leblon, Urca and Botafogo a short Uber ride away. Sugarloaf Mountain is an 11 minute Uber ride and The train to Christ the Redeemer about 20 to 30 minutes by Uber.

Disliked: The hotel bedroom felt a little bit dated.

Liked: Breakfast, room, staff, service and location all excellent

Liked: breakfast location staff everything was good
