“Above average”
The layout of room *** is a bit strange. The ceiling is low and you feel compressed as soon as you enter. When I went to bed I found the air-conditioning vent blowing straight onto my pillow, which gave me a headache, so I had to turn off the bedroom AC. Unexpectedly, the living-room AC also shut off, and the whole room became stifling. I woke up around 2 a.m., my pajamas were soaked, and I had to turn the air back on and sit in the living room scrolling on my phone until dawn. I hardly slept all night. Domestic travel can be really disheartening — I was shocked. Maybe I should have spent the money on plane tickets so the holiday wouldn’t have been ruined.

“Guide to the large bath is no good.”
The hotel elevator won’t operate without the room key card, so outsiders basically shouldn’t be able to use it, but the attendant at the large public bath on the 4th floor (an older woman) asked me to prove my room number, and I had to go back to get it. Furthermore, this attendant could hardly communicate in English, so I couldn’t understand the explanation of how to use the public bath; it was only with the help of another guest who was waiting in line behind me that I finally understood. There was no information in the room explaining how to use the public bath (maybe I just couldn’t find it), and, to be honest, it didn’t feel like the sort of place that should bear the name "Kagaya" to a Japanese person.

“Wonderful stay at Radium Kagaya International Hotel”
This was my first time staying in a traditional Japanese-style tatami room, and it was such a comfortable and memorable experience. The room was beautifully prepared, and the hotel even surprised us with lovely towel swans and thoughtful gifts upon arrival. The 24-hour hot spring was absolutely wonderful and one of the highlights of our stay. We also really enjoyed the tea ceremony and the traditional games, which made the experience feel much more immersive and special. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of options. I especially loved the sashimi, which was available almost without limit — definitely a highlight for me! The hotel also provides a shuttle service to Beitou Station, which made getting around extremely convenient. Overall, this was much more than just a hotel stay — it was a wonderful opportunity to experience Japanese-style hospitality and the hot spring culture of Beitou. We had a fantastic time and would definitely love to come back!

“A great hotel for stress relief and relaxation in hot springs.”
Great location in Beitou for hot springs, with parking and convenient EV charging. Right across from Beitou Library and the Hot Spring Museum, and within easy walking distance to local attractions and the MRT station. They also offer a matcha ceremony lesson — a wonderful resort for experiencing a Japanese-style ryokan and professional Japanese-style butler service.
