Liked: I stayed in Kandy for three months, and Riverline Resort truly felt like a home during my stay. If you’re tired of standardized hotels and would like to be closer to nature and escape from the noise of everyday life, this is definitely a place worth considering. The house is located in a quiet corner of Kandy, about a 10-minute ride from the city center. The view from my room was simply magnificent: the Mahaweli River flowing endlessly below and the green mountains stretching as far as the eye could see. The room was spacious and had large windows that let in plenty of natural light. It was also kept very clean, and the bed was large and comfortable. One thing I particularly appreciated was the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, which isn’t always the case in hotels in Sri Lanka. As this is a homestay-style accommodation, staying here also gives you a glimpse into everyday local life. You can hear the sound of coconuts being scraped every day and enjoy the wonderful aromas of different kinds of curries coming from the kitchen. The house has a lovely large garden filled with all kinds of flowers and trees, with plenty of space to park a car, scooter, or even a tuk-tuk! The owner and his family are incredibly friendly and kind. They helped me out in so many ways during my three-month stay and made me feel very welcome. They also prepared some of the most delicious food and drinks I had during my time in Sri Lanka. If you’re interested in experiencing local life rather than simply staying in a standard hotel, I would highly recommend staying here. For me, it was not just a place to stay, but a really memorable part of my time in Kandy. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with a rich cultural and historical heritage. I can’t wait to visit again and, of course, I’ll be staying here again on my next trip!
Liked: The location is great peaceful, convenient and surrounded by nature.
Disliked: The only thing that could have been better was the hot water, as it was not working properly. Other than that, everything was good.
Liked: Unfortunately I couldn't get bfast there, location was ok and peaceful🪻💯☮️
Disliked: Room
Liked: nice place and good service
Liked: Mooie, grote kamer in een rustige buurt. Vanuit het raam heb je prachtig uitzicht over de jungle. De eigenaren zijn aardig en behulpzaam. Goede bedden, goede douche.
