“I highly recommend it!”
There are many hotels with better locations or newer buildings than this one. That said, I highly recommend it for family trips, girls’ getaways, and business travel. Reasons I recommend Santos Hotel - The hotel is quiet and calm - Rooms have bathtubs (some places don’t, so request one if you need it) - Toilet with bidet function (washlet) - Toilet paper is flushable - Bottled water provided daily - Japanese is understood - Daily housekeeping - 5–8 minute walk to MRT Minquan West Road - A 7-Eleven is right next to the hotel - Old but feels clean - Staff are very kind - Rooms have windows, TV, and refrigerator The cost performance is excellent. Minquan West Road has two MRT lines, so it’s convenient to get anywhere. The recently popular Dihua Street and Dadaocheng are a short bus ride away — easily walkable too. I especially recommend it if you’re traveling with elderly parents or children. Drawbacks - Shops near the station close after about 9 PM, so apart from convenience stores nothing else is open - Some musty smell around the plumbing (this is common in older Taiwanese apartments and hotels, so it’s unavoidable) If you want a late-night snack or a drink, your only option nearby is the 7-Eleven. For under 10,000 yen, I don’t think you’ll find many hotels offering this level of amenities. I recommend it.

“My usual favorite hotel.”
I stayed for four nights this time. I use this hotel every time. You can’t deny some wear and tear in the facilities, but it has a nostalgic feel like an old-fashioned Japanese business hotel. I like it for its reliable facilities and consistent service. It’s not trendy. There are many favorite shops nearby, and the subway station and bus stop are close, which is convenient.

“Clean & convenient.”
Short walk from MRT station. Although room are dated, maintenance is good. Shower pressure is good, great for short stay and good value for the price paid.

“An old but good hotel.”
The building is old, but the cleaning, the replenishment of bottled water, and the plumbing were all well maintained, making for a comfortable stay. One minor complaint: an outlet by the bedside was broken, which made charging inconvenient. Also, the side table was a bit tilted and felt slightly unstable. The location is good, so I’d like to stay again when the room rate is on the cheaper side.

“Good”
The shower is the type you use while standing in the bathtub, but water leaks from the side of the tub onto the bathroom floor. I requested extra towels to prevent this, but the request was refused. The room cleaning is not very thorough. Partway through my five-night stay, the housekeeping request card was removed from the room, so I had to ask at the lobby each time I wanted the bed made, which was inconvenient. The room cleaning itself still did not seem very thorough. I request prompt improvement on these points, as I already have a future stay booked.

“Exceptional”
Although hotel is a bit old, but it has maintained its standard, room is clean and comfortable, decent size. Hotel has lots of Japanese guests and Japanese tour groups. Location is good, not busy yet still convenient, there is a direct airport bus No 1841 to the hotel which makes more convenient than catching MRT. I didn't buy breakfast or eat in their buffet restaurant because I wanted to try local food stalls/night markets as this is my first hotel in Taiwan but their food looks delicious and amazing, and I will definitely try next time.

“There was a sense of安心感.”
I booked one night at the last minute because my flight was canceled and I needed to extend my stay. Since I checked out just after 10 PM that same day, it was effectively only a half-day stay. The older woman who handled my check-in and the older man who took care of my checkout were both extremely kind and spoke very polite Japanese. I was generally satisfied with the facilities.

“It's an established hotel, but a safe choice.”
I've stayed here five times in total. By now it's basically my regular place in Taipei. To be honest, it's nothing special but nothing bad either. With hotel prices rising in Taipei, this hotel's rate increases have been modest. It's got pretty good value for money. If you don't expect much and just want a normal, trouble-free hotel stay, the rooms are relatively spacious, so it's ideal for you!
