Sela V Hotel

It was a beautiful hotel, clean and super close to Pratt Institute where my daughter goes to college!

Liked: The gym was pretty nice and empty so I got it all to myself

Disliked: The location isn’t the best, I expected it to be more convenient to get places around town.

Really love this room for two. The terrace was worth a little extra and the weather was perfect for us to hang outside. This hotel is the perfect location for all the places we needed to go on our City adventure birthday trip.

Liked: The staff was absolutely a pleasure! My daughter and I were in the city to walk for NY Fashion Week. It's as such an AMAZING experience. To be able to rest and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city was a blessing! We shall definitely return! The room is something straight out of a movie! From the moment you enter the ambiance captures you. Sela V is breath taking. You can tell the owners were intentional throughout the process.

Disliked: Please know the staff went above and beyond. Give the staff a raise!

This room was very clean as well as perfect for four to sleep. Bathroom was super cute and location is very close to all the places we need to go for our trip into the city.

We were there to celebrate in the city a very special birthday. I can’t see enough about the place itself, but the staff is absolutely amazing. They were all very accommodating and answered every question and request up till checkout. The Bridgeview loft was worth it. I highly recommend it for a special occasion.

Liked: Sela V is a beautifully designed hotel, and I especially loved the lobby and restaurant space. The interiors are thoughtfully done, the value is great, and the location was perfect for my visit.

Disliked: The biggest problem is the lack of soundproofing. I was woken up multiple times throughout my stay by everything from guests playing music to the elevator dinging and people simply having conversations in the hallway. Sound echoes throughout the corridors, and I eventually had to buy earplugs just to get a decent night's sleep. For a hotel this thoughtfully designed, the acoustics feel like a major oversight. There also seem to be some growing pains with the coordination between the hotel and restaurant. While I really enjoyed the restaurant itself, the staff weren't aware of the breakfast included with my stay and told me the restaurant was separate from the hotel. This was confusing, especially since the restaurant is directly next to check-in and the drinks menu is branded Sela V Hotel. There also wasn't a dinner menu available, which added to the confusion. Guest communication could also be much better. There wasn't any of the usual hotel information provided in the room, whether a printed welcome guide or a digital alternative. Basic details like breakfast inclusions, restaurant hours, checkout times, and hotel amenities would have been helpful, particularly given the confusion between the hotel and restaurant. Even small operational details could be improved. For example, complimentary drip coffee is offered to hotel guests, but you still have to wait in the regular barista line to get it. A simple self-serve coffee station would make the experience much more convenient. Despite these frustrations, I would stay again. The beautiful design, good value, and convenient location are compelling enough to bring me back. It feels like a hotel with a lot of potential that just needs to work through some operational growing pains. I hope they address the acoustics in particular, because that would make a huge difference in the overall experience.

We were surprised to find this new hotel. It is a beautiful use of the old building and the food is delicious. The lobby lounge and bar area are welcoming. The hotel room we stayed in was spacious. It’s called the founders loft. No view but very spacious and laid out nicely.
