The hotel is a bit old. The spa area is very small, and the cleanliness of the pools felt poor — there were many particles in the spa pool. Because of the aging, the door was hard to open and stuck. The bathroom is very small; although there is a bathtub you can only soak halfway, so it’s hard to fully submerge. The hot water is spring water and feels slippery when you wash. The room is extremely dim with only a floor lamp and a desk lamp — so dark it’s basically only good for sleeping. Using your phone in the room strains your eyes. The hair dryer in the room is very small with extremely weak airflow.

The rooms are large and there are many room types to choose from. I originally booked a loft room for the kids, but when we arrived there were none left, so the front desk upgraded us to a Japanese-style room. At first the kids were disappointed, but when we walked past the loft rooms we noticed the soundproofing was poor — other guests were opening their doors to see where the noise was coming from. Our Japanese-style room was very quiet. The hotel is a bit old, so in terms of cleanliness there are some accumulated stains in the nooks and crannies of the rooms. From the lobby to the rooms to the restaurant, the staff were all very friendly, which made it feel like a warm, welcoming hotel. Facilities include a foot-soaking pool, spa, splash pool, fishing, and palace-style costume experiences — quite varied, and the kids had a great time.

About 20 years ago, I stayed at this hotel with my family, so you could call this visit a return trip. The property is admittedly aged, but the staff are friendly, and once again, their breakfast was pleasantly surprising.

A family-friendly hotel. The location is convenient — right next to Dongshan River Water Park, and within a 10-minute drive of the Taiwan Folk Arts Museum and Wujie Township center. Facilities include a children's wading pool, spa treatments, a hot spring foot bath, fishing, and traditional toys/children's play items. There’s a family movie screening in the lobby at 8:30 PM (ask the front desk about that night’s film), and a late-night snack at 8:30 PM. Coffee and cookies are available in the lobby 24 hours. We stayed three days and two nights. We originally planned to go to the Children’s Folklore and Folkgame Festival, but ended up spending the second day using the hotel’s facilities. Overall the stay was very good.
