“Above average”
Excellent location with fantastic view. Great lineup of activities for guests, especially kids. Service could be more customer oriented. When I requested for housekeeping, only the trash was removed, nothing else was done. Also requested for change of sheets and they refused. There was a lizard in the room, and lizard pooping around.

The room was large and clean, and you could smell cypress as soon as you walked in. The grounds have old-fashioned children's toys, bubbles, and educational games. In the evening there was dumpling-making, sky lanterns, a late-night snack, and a guided night-sky tour. After breakfast in the morning we walked across the suspension bridge to the farm opposite, enjoyed the morning scenery and swung on the swings before leaving. We checked in in the afternoon and stayed until check-out the next day, and felt completely relaxed on the farm — perfect for a getaway and definitely worth returning to!

“The standards for canceling reservations are not considerate enough, and the attitude is rigid.”
Overall the accommodation quality was pretty good, but our rating was heavily affected because our trip coincided with a typhoon. 1. We had originally planned to visit Yilan with our children from 8/8 to 8/9 and booked this property through Agoda. On 8/3 news reported Typhoon Bailaiyundun (White Dolphin) approaching and a maritime warning was expected to be issued on 8/7. Because we were traveling with kids and worried about safety, we immediately requested to cancel the reservation, but the hotel replied that a free cancellation would only be allowed if Yilan County announced work and school closures... honestly that was hard to accept. Even though the weather eventually was not too severe, the wind and rain still affected the quality of our trip. For this reason I gave the staff one star — really it was directed at the hotel's customer service. 2. The farm is up on a hill with beautiful views and the rooms are large. The family room even has a swing, which was a nice bonus! However, the route to carry luggage to the room is quite rugged, and much of the path is outdoors, so wind and rain made coming and going inconvenient. 3. The room soundproofing is very poor. Early in the morning around 7 a.m. we could clearly hear the neighbors talking and children crying, which disturbed our sleep. 4. Breakfast was pretty good and they did a good job accommodating vegetarian needs.

“I want to fully experience an entire spring, summer, autumn, and winter.”
Everything was great except the room felt a bit dated! Room: The room shows its age overall, so it’s understandable that the drainage system, metal fixtures, and wooden doors are a bit worn. The most troublesome issue was the drainage—there was some overflow, which undermines the whole idea of a wet/dry separation. Also, the hairdryer is fixed to the wall and the airflow is a bit weak, so you might want to bring your own. When you enter the room you’re greeted by a strong cypress scent; that’s the kind of atmosphere you want when staying in the woods. Possibly due to some updates, the floor has been repainted (blue-green), and the paint smell was strong and the color didn’t quite match. Still, the overall stay was pleasant. Just watch for a few small bugs when opening and closing doors at night! Service / Atmosphere: What the farm sells is a warm human connection, from reception to guided tours, activities, and meals. I felt truly treated like an honored guest. We’ve stayed at many farms where evenings are quiet and leisurely, but here the vibe is lively—staff help you pass the evening with activities and teach you things you won’t learn in the city (spinning tops, stargazing, releasing sky lanterns), making it hard to want to go to bed. This place has plenty of heart; it’s more than just a place to sleep. Environment: The farm is expansive, with lots of wildlife but surprisingly few mosquitoes, which I think is wonderful—not only does it indicate ecological balance, it also made us comfortable. Clean restrooms and trash bins are everywhere, and there are many swings for both adults and children to relax in the wide-open space. There’s a training area where kids can burn off energy, drums echo through the woods, flowers are beautiful and the grass is very green. We saw rhinoceros beetles happily munching on trees and butterflies dancing about. It’s a natural environment where humans and nature coexist, and the farm’s upkeep is excellent. The journey is a bit far, but I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others!
