Shilla Stay Seodaemun Seoul Station

We were only there for a couple days so not too sure if the price was “worth it” but the location was great and had a subway literally right out the door. Friendly helpful staff, and very clean rooms

I've stayed at other hotels in the chain several times, but this was my first time at Shilla Stay Seodaemun Seoul Station. The hotel is right above the station, so access was easy. I arrived early, but they were able to prepare a room and checked me in free of charge. All the staff I encountered were excellent. The housekeeping staff also greeted me with a smile. The room was clean, but when using the shower a lot of water splashed onto the floor by the sink and it got quite wet, which bothered me. Also, at night a group was eating on the lobby sofas, which was a little distracting. I felt there were many guests from Europe and South America. Other than that, everything was great! There was a Waopass charging machine in the lobby and the location is excellent. I especially recommend it for people using the train.

Liked: Joy at the front desk was very helpful and allowed us to check in several hours early. We also really appreciated the later check out. This made the experience so much more comfortable than the other hotels we stayed in.

Disliked: The lack of shower curtain in the shower caused it to get wet during showers. Also some of the outlets were loose. Otherwise everything was good.

Liked: Great location, helpful staff and wonderful breakfast (best of the holiday in fact and I still miss it).

Liked: A hotel close to the metro station and local grocery shops. Stuff was excellent and very helpful. Helped us with our luggage, we had no reason to complain during our stay.

My first stay at Shilla Stay Seodaemun Seoul Station was very pleasant, but now, with the passage of time, I can feel wear and aging in various areas. The staff were very friendly and I was very satisfied. It was a holiday period so the price was higher than usual, but the value for money was still very good.

We are a Korean family returning after a 16-hour flight. We were tired at check-in and asked a confusing question, and when we mentioned we use a wheelchair and asked if there was a chair, a female staff member responded with an expression as if to say “why are you asking that?” She came over because we weren’t getting the elevator right and, sighing, told us to tap our card to make it work. It seemed like she was talking to the staff beside her about us in a dismissive way; her expression and attitude were unpleasant. Also, on the very top floor there was a strong moldy smell in the bathroom. Cleanliness and staff service training seem necessary. The next morning at checkout, a male staff member was really kind, and thanks to him we felt better.

Liked: The location is absolutely perfect. Trains right at the bottom of the hotel that will takes you anywhere but also walking distances to main temples.
