Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

We stayed at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay and initially booked the Run of House category for ***. However, upon arrival, we were given a villa worth around ***. The staff explained that it was a booking error and that it was not their fault. To their credit, they eventually upgraded us to a more expensive villa, and I appreciate their efforts to resolve the issue. However, the replacement villa still did not match the Run of House category we had originally booked. Apart from this issue, everything else about our stay was excellent. The service, facilities, and overall experience were wonderful. Would I return? Unfortunately, no. The reason is that the compensation offered for this booking mistake was only two cocktails, which I felt was inadequate given the circumstances and the price we paid. My advice to future guests: Before booking a villa, I strongly recommend contacting the hotel directly to confirm your reservation category and ensure that everything is correct before making your booking.

Hands down, the best resort we have ever been to. Its on another level. We changed villas mid stay because I wanted to see the difference between the Hilltop Pool Villa and Beach Villa. Where the Hilltop beach villa is more luxurious, the beachtop was just more fun for us as a family. Both are absolutely incredible. First time I almost cried when leaving a place. I want to go back already

Had an extremely relaxing stay at this beautiful resort. I thought I might get bored after a few days but they had all sorts of activities to keep us occupied. Food is probably the weakest link- not that many options and can probably get a bit boring after a few days. But otherwise the stay was amazing!

In the past, we often stayed at Six Senses Con Dao, and this system in Ninh Van Bay was our first experience. However, we were not entirely satisfied, particularly with the issue of the boat transfer costs to the island. Neither the Agoda booking nor the resort informed me in advance that I would have to pay a boat transfer fee of about 6 million VND for both the check-in and check-out trips. It was only when I was about to leave and settled the total bill that I realized this issue. Should I have to pay anything at that point? Moreover, the hotel is on a remote island, and we had already incurred quite high expenses for one night, in addition to the high service and dining costs during our stay on the island. If there were plans to go to the mainland during our stay, it would be reasonable to charge separately, but having to pay nearly 6 million VND for the check-in and check-out transfers seemed quite unreasonable; should guests swim to the hotel instead? Agoda also only mentioned additional costs from the airport or breakfast fees and did not provide any information about the boat fees. The rooms here also come with a personal butler who is responsible for transportation, but the butler has to take care of multiple rooms at once, so sometimes the shuttle service can feel a bit rushed. Additionally, the connection between the butler and the guests here is not as good as in Con Dao. In Con Dao, the butler would ask if we needed anything or check in during breakfast, while here, it just stopped at being available for support when we asked for something. Overall, other reviews are good; the scenery is beautiful, and the staff are all gentle and friendly. However, the dining costs are quite high, and the portion sizes are relatively small. I still prefer to visit Six Senses Con Dao multiple times, while the Six Senses here is generally fine for just one experience to know what it’s like.

Disliked: There are many service errors. The staffs were not really well trained.

The price of this hotel should be on par with Aman but this hotel is tired, outdated and feels more like a camp. Even the staff uniforms need updating with clear signs of wear. Breakfast is average and feel more like a mid tier hotel not a six senses. Everything is an additional surcharge, it feels like price gouging everywhere you turn. We were even told to buy sunscreen from their kiosk instead of offering some. This is not the behaviour of a 5 star top tier hotel. Would not recommend for the price.
