For an overnight stay at a budget price — book online for an even cheaper rate — and most importantly the room has space for prayer, is clean, and has a fan and air conditioning. However, when it rained, water was on the stairs which are rather narrow and it was very dangerous coming down with luggage. The water wasn't mopped up right away and I almost fell because I grabbed the blind thinking it was a wall. There was one staff member who couldn't speak Malay or understand English but seemed friendly. Outside the hotel there is a nasi lemak shop that is delicious.

Bathroom floor have a spot of stains that should be cleaned & can use some type of chemical to wipe out the stains... overall Sunstar were very clean and I love to stay here.

The hotel is close to the airport and the property itself is clean, but the overall experience was uncomfortable due to several strict rules that were only informed upon check‑in. These policies should have been clearly stated on their website or on the booking platforms, so guests can make an informed decision before choosing the hotel. The location is not convenient, and it’s quite difficult to find food nearby. The staff were also overly strict — guests are required to remove their shoes before entering, and eating inside the room is not allowed. The dining area has a narrow walkway, which makes it uncomfortable to use. I would not recommend this hotel. I was traveling with my elderly parent who was unwell, yet the staff insisted that everyone must eat outside the room. I had to request multiple times before they finally allowed it, and even then, my father had to eat sitting on a chair because eating on the bed was not permitted, despite his condition. This made our stay very difficult.
