Tavistock Hotel

Pros: -Near metro like russsel square, king cross and euston/euston square. -Got free water refill at level 1 pub -Hot water on shower and sink tap which is good -location is near school which i feel its quite safe -price point cheaper compared to national royal and president hotel nearby. Cons: -No aircon -Room service quite slow but i think too many rooms -hotel looks old, the lift only got 2 which need wait Overall i feel not bad. I will stay again if i come london again.

excellent location.... friendly staff... room is clean but lacked hairdryer..... good shower but bathroom is on a little small size.... breakfast is very good... lots of choices....

There is a lot to like about The Tavistock Hotel: Exceptional location for central London, walk to Oxford St & the West End; Chinatown and Covent Garden. The hotel itself is bright, clean and well maintained: Lovely, smiley, helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Daily housekeeping. Floor 7 very quiet. We stayed room only, so don’t know about breakfast etc. Bathroom is on the small side. There was no aircon in our room, which was not a problem, but the room was noticeably warm even in October, with the window permanently open. I don’t think I would book this hotel in the summer months, unless there was an aircon option. On the upside I don’t think you’d need to be concerned about being cosy in the winter months!

Great location and welcoming and friendly staff

Although it said’couple’ I actually travelled with a good friend…which was lucky because u der any requests I asked for a twin bed room….i had booked it because it had them! When we got there it was a double and I was Not that happy…staff were sympathetic but no twins available…we decided to stay as the bed was very big and we are good friends so all turned out well but disappointed they didn’t get my request! Otherwise lovely hotel…nice ambience and great position…Will go back!

The facility has a more traditional character but the premises are clean and well-maintained. When I requested a luggage rack, it was brought to my room promptly, which was very helpful and appreciated. Location was also very convenient and I also enjoyed taking a morning walk to Russell Square.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. The location is super. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We’re traveling for seven months and I had a lot of medication with me and it needed to be refrigerated. The staff went out of their way to give us a fridge for the room, and I really appreciated all of their support. Great Hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. The breakfast is fantastic.

I’ve stayed at the Tavistock before and it was decent. It’s a great location and a good price. Most of the staff is lovely. However, this time it kinda sucked. They initially gave us the wrong room and tried to blame it on us, and made no accommodation for shuffling us around in a really inconvenient way. The towels were stained, the toilets barely flushed in two of the three rooms that we had, and the shower was a trickle in one of them. And whatever you do, don’t stay in room 747 (a triple) because you are right up against the elevator and you will have to listen to it thump away all night long. I suspect that the manager (Adem) gave us that room on purpose - although were nice about the reservation snafu, he was clearly very annoyed at being inconvenienced by having to fix things. It’s not the worst place, but I would probably not return.
