The Chicago Hotel Collection Magnificent Mile

⭐ Very Disappointing Stay — Would Not Recommend My experience at The Hotel Collection Magnificent Mile was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, the hotel fell far below my expectations in several areas. The hotel had an unpleasant smell, and the ventilation in the room was poor, making the environment uncomfortable. The television barely worked, and the lack of basic amenities was unacceptable. I was provided with only one set of towels for two people during a three-day stay, with no additional bathroom towels available. The bar area also had a very unpleasant odor, which made the experience even less enjoyable. The food included in my package was poor quality, and after trying it on the first day, I chose not to use that benefit for the remainder of my stay. For the price paid, I expected a clean, comfortable room, working amenities, adequate towels, and a better overall experience. Instead, I was left disappointed by the room conditions, service, and food quality. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. Management needs to address the odor issues, ventilation, maintenance, housekeeping, and food quality. Guests deserve a much better experience, especially when booking a package that includes dining.

Raymond Alvarez the one in front desk was very well spoken,clear and complete in providing us with all the information that we asked for.We felt very at ease and welcomed to think it was our first time in Chicago.Love that you have a staff like him.Also our room was big and clean,love that it was beside Gina's too which is a plus.Will come back and book at this hotel again.

The price on agoda was reasonable, but they added a surprise charge at check-in, which was nearly equal to the original price we paid, effectively doubling our cost for two nights' stay. This price should be added to the sticker price, or mentioned upfront before booking

Location is perfect for tourists to Chicago, It is walking distance from Mag mile and close by are restaurants, shops and public transport. Staff is proficient and service is smooth. Recommend to opt for a room in the lower floors as there is separate lift to the lower 7 floors. This lift was always available unlike the upper floors lifts which always had a queue. Room was spacious and clean, albeit the HVAC unit outside made a persistent hum which was fairly loud. Not so much of a problem for deep sleepers, bit of a nag for light sleepers. Breakfast was great and good quality and variety dishes on offer. Housekeeping was promptly done. Overall a pleasant stay. The $150 deposit was refunded after a week without any follow ups.

Disliked: The toilet backed up 2x and the room had steps

Disliked: We had no hot water the first day of stay

Location was great and the room was massive. I’ve stayed in plenty nice hotels and honestly this has to be one of the best. Stayed for Chicago marathon so it was walkable to everything.
