Here are some facts, based on our 8-day stay. Pros: nice facilities, clean, spacious villas, great nature. Cons: - Raffles were unable to arrange a proper flight back for us! We learned about it at the last moment. Raffles ended up picking us at 4 am for an incredibly early flight, as they could not find other flights for us. We were virtually stuck on the island, unless we agreed to cut our vacation half-day short and flee in the middle of the night on a few-hour notice. To add insult to injury, someone knocked on our door that night at 3:30 to "take care of luggage" (we had no luggage and needed any extra minute of sleep!). Raffles placed us at a stinky hotel in Male, claiming that there we'll have breakfast. We had to wait long time at that Male hotel, as Raffles failed to notify the hotel promptly!! Then, they finally notified the hotel, but forgot to notify about the breakfast. That added to the wait. In sum - total and utmost disaster!! - Messed up the final bill. Finally, sent a corrected one, but it cut another valuable hour from my sleep before fleeing the island at 4 am. - AC in the room of our villa (sunset overwater villa) made sounds of a speed boat. They fixed it eventually, but for a property that charges so much - this is totally unacceptable. - It is also unacceptable for such an expensive property to send rotten fruits to the room time after time. This is what 3-star hotels do! - When we came, wi-fi didn't work. TV wasn't working several times. - The resort had total electrical power loss few days in a row. - Massage was no more than stroking with oil, in spite of my requests for real deep-tissue treatment. - The butler was convinced that he speaks English. Yet, this is far from being true. It was very hard to understand him (and many others) and his communication skills are sub-par.
