The Municipal Hotel Liverpool - Mgallery

From the moment of arrival until the end of our 3 night stay we were greeted with warmth and attentiveness. The hotel reception and lobby area instantly feels grandeur even with doorman happily seeing you in and out. The stand out is the main bar/restaurant area, with ceiling high palms and inviting seating areas, instant calm feeling. The rooms albeit a fair walk along big historical corridors, are well planned. Our room was small but cosy, the high ceilings and big windows making it feel more spacious. The bathroom was very clean with a big rainfall shower head, the easy shower turn on feature was great too! Mirrors were big well positioned with plug sockets placed great all over. The details were beautiful in design, the night lights especially. The bed was so comfy, we sank into it after a long day/night and slept perfectly. The choice of pillows is always a nice touch as well as the turndown. The hotel is steeped in history with beautiful features. Would definitely recommend

Liked: Hotel was nicely located for walking. Close walk to train station and water front for Magical Mystery Tour.

Liked: Beautiful historic building with great facilities! The room was large and comfortable. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was really good. Location was perfect!

Liked: This is not a 5* hotel by any stretch of the Imagination. Its an ok 4*. Beautiful public area, basic room small rooms. If this is considered 5* it clearly doesn't take much for a hotel to achieve that rating. Its way overpriced for what it is.

Disliked: Small room, seriously overpriced for what it is, not a great location.

Liked: excellent

Disliked: excellent

High ceilings and lovingly maintained period architectural style make this place worth a visit. A bit pricey and an excellent location.

Liked: 5 stars hotel in the city center. We stayed in a deluxe room in the 2nd floor very quiet. Both Bedroom and bathroom were spacious and very clean. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and there also was a pillow menu in case you needed something different, softer, natural fiber and so on. Also the night mask menu was a plus. One morning my husband was feeling unwell and the breakfast staff was so kind as to arrange a tray to be brought to our room.

Disliked: Only a couple of downside: 1. The spa comes at an extra charge, which was not clearly advertised; 2. We got a ticket for parking right at the corner and we were not able to pay since the machine was not accepting card payment. We parked only to unload our suitcases and cane right down to move the car. It would be helpful to have either an unloading area or hotel staff to help you with directions for the nearest parking before getting a ticket (the police lady that day was on fire apparently).

Awful small double bed. How can a 5* hotel in this era provide only a double bed, not even a queen yet alone a king?
