loved everything about this resort. Just a bit expensive but so worth it

It was a pleasant stay. The room was great; clean, cozy, and spacious enough. Staff were very nice and quick to attend to your needs. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable. Dining spots are also good.

My stay at The Reef Island Resort Mactan was truly an unforgettable experience! First of all, a huge thank you to Louise at the front desk for upgrading me to a spacious ocean-view suite with a private balcony and bathtub. It was such a thoughtful surprise, and I truly appreciated her kindness and hospitality. Waking up to that beautiful ocean view was an absolute dream. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was breathtaking. Everything about this place makes you feel like you’re on a real vacation, where you can simply relax, unwind, and enjoy life. The food was another highlight of my stay. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with an impressive selection and excellent quality. The food and drinks served by the pool were delicious, too. The rooftop restaurant offered an equally impressive dining experience with stunning views and a wonderful atmosphere. On my last day, I ordered prawns, octopus, and clams, and everything was absolutely delicious! As someone who isn’t very experienced with diving, I was especially grateful to Greg, one of the resort’s instructors, who patiently guided me through how to use the diving equipment. The complimentary activities organized by the resort were a fantastic bonus. There was something different to enjoy every day, including a lovely shell bracelet-making activity where I got to create my own handmade souvenir to remember the trip. Such a thoughtful and memorable experience! I also have to give a special mention to the spa. It was incredibly relaxing and the perfect way to unwind. With restaurants, a spa, a shop where you can purchase essentials such as sunscreen, and so many activities all within the resort, everything you need for a wonderful holiday is right there. The Reef is more than just a beautiful hotel — it’s a complete holiday experience. From the thoughtful hospitality and stunning ocean views to the exceptional food, relaxing spa, and memorable activities, every detail made my stay special. I left with wonderful memories and would absolutely love to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious, and unforgettable stay in Cebu! 💙

Liked: We just recently stayed at The Reef Island Resort in Mactan, and we had a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with big smiles and made us feel right at home. We had to wait a little past 3pm for our check-in but Jayn at the front desk was very accomodating and kindly offered us a late check-out. Although we didn't need it since we had to check out early for our trip to Bohol. We truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture and her willingness to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The customer service throughout our stay was excellent. The front manager, I forgot his name even greeted us when we're checking-in. A special thank-you to Jed and Clayde who helped us with all our luggage. When we needed to move to another room because my husband is a light sleeper, Clayde assisted us right away and made the process smooth and hassle-free. Our room was in a higher floor and had the beautiful view of the water. The food selection was also impressive, with plenty of local and international options. My mother-in-law can be a little bit picky when it comes to food, but she genuinely enjoyed everything that was served. The trip was especially meaningful because it was my parents-in-law's first visit to the Philippines from the US. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made a wonderful first impression. My parents-in-law even commented that the atmosphere in the Philippines feels different because of how friendly, attentive, and accomodating, making our stay even more memorable. Overrall, we had a wonderful time at the Reef Island resort. And I would definitely come back. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a confortable and welcoming place to stay in Lapu-lapu City. It's location is also convenient, approximately 20-30minutes away from the airport, depending on traffic. Thank you, The Reef team, for making our stay so special. Disliked: Nothing

It's practically brand-new and stylish; it's a bit inconvenient being set back inside, but overall it's nice. The infinity pool is well done, and especially the beach is excellent — the water is clean and there are lots of fish. The on-site restaurants are okay. Breakfast is just so-so.

Check-in was at 3 PM, but because of our Cebu tour schedule we checked in around 7 PM. I had a photo of the reservation voucher, but before I showed it they kept saying, "You booked twin beds," and insisted on giving us a twin room. I told them we had booked a king, but they kept insisting we had booked a twin. When I showed the photo, only then did they apologize. They said the king rooms were full so they would give us a queen room for tonight and switch us to a king room tomorrow, so I just agreed to the queen. We’re a couple so queen or king would have been fine, but I chose the king specifically because it’s more comfortable — and I had booked and paid in full in advance, so finding out the reserved room wasn’t available was hard to understand. We were tired, so we accepted it. We stayed in the queen room for two nights. Even though my speaking wasn’t great, they understood everything. Other than that issue, I was satisfied with the facilities, location, breakfast, and room service.
