The RuMa Hotel and Residences

I had a wonderful one-night stay at RuMa Hotel and Residences on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The hotel offers an excellent blend of luxury, comfort, and Malaysian cultural heritage. I particularly enjoyed the spacious room, which was beautifully designed, comfortable, and provided a relaxing retreat after a day out in Kuala Lumpur. What made the experience even more special was the thoughtful incorporation of Malaysian culture throughout the hotel, from its interior design to the little details that reflect the country's rich heritage and traditions. It gives the hotel a distinctive character and makes it feel much more personal than a typical luxury hotel. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and was impressed by the hotel's elegant ambience and attention to detail. RuMa is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a luxurious hotel experience with a genuine sense of Malaysian identity. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur!

Amazing hotel for couple

One of the best hotels i have stayed in KL. Usually staying at other 5 star hotels like MO and Hyatt. I like the cosy design of the hotel and rooms.

Staf super friendly & respective

Heard great things about the hotel from both my local and traveller friends. In general, great atmosphere, responsive staff and very clean hotel. Genuinely deserving of a 5-star rating unlike some others I have been to. While location is just off the heart of the city, it also means less congestion when coming back from outside KL. There was a good spread for breakfast but hope for more non-beef options like lamb or turkey. It also gets really crowded very quickly at peak breakfast times. Will definitely consider returning during my next visit to KL!

I like every thing about this place except the breakfast

I stayed here for 2 nights and the staff was rude. First night they called me like midnight without even verifying if there was noise. I was asleep and awaken by the call for no reason. Then breakfast was supposed to be included but they didn’t have a service to explain. They had in the screen hours. I unfortunately overslept which means I can’t talk about the experience. That being said, I ordered food and I can say that staff tries to understand what gluten / celiac is but they gave me by accident a soy sauce of some sort which got me sick. I recommend you learn the term for the allergy in their native language. They don’t understand English that well (or it depends on whom you speak with). The view though from 6th floor is breathtaking and beautiful to visit. The room is ok (nothing different than a high scale Airbnb) for less the price. They do not accommodate allergy in the snack complimentary bar. I will ask today and see if they do. Overall, good place for its location buy is it luxury?! Hmmm not so sure to be honest. Food was ok … room was ok (clean), staff was (depends on who you speak with)… not a unique experience I was looking for. It’s just good.

After searching for over a month, I finally decided to stay at The RuMa Hotel and Residences — and it was worth the time spent finding a hotel! 1. The rooms are comfortable; every day we returned to find the room cleaned and lightly fragranced. 2. The front-desk staff are professional and thoughtful, attentive to each guest’s needs and proactive in asking how they can help. 3. Every hotel employee has a great attitude—polite, greeting guests unprompted. Staff even wait at the entrance to help guests, assisting with things like luggage and helping people get in and out of vehicles. They’ll also stop to chat and say hello, which really makes it feel like home. Everyone is very nice. 4. This hotel is truly attentive to detail. Each day the housekeeping team leaves a bookmark-like card on the bed, different every day, describing the design work and the ideas behind various parts of the hotel. It’s very thoughtful and unique. 5. The housekeeping staff are excellent; if you have a request and leave a note, they’ll respond and help promptly. I sincerely recommend staying here!
