The Westin Chicago River North

Good day, I would just like to share our experience staying in the Westin Chicago River North last Oct 9-11 2026, my wife and I were in town for the Chicago marathon. We arrived late and still badly feeling the effects of jetlag. Our room was facing Dearborn street and we were disturbed by the noise being made by the workers who were on strike which was directly below our room. This really made the experience of staying in Westin very bad but when we approached the front desk and the Front Office Manager Ms Maria Hernandez really helped us out. She was able to arrange for our rooms to be changed and it really made a lot of difference. Our Chicago Marathon weekend would have been a disaster but Maria was able to fix our accommodations and it became a memorable weekend for us. Thank you to Maria for helping us out and she is really a great asset in the Westin Chicago River North team! I want to do the Chicago Marathon again next year if I get a slot and I plan to go back to your property. Thank you so much Maria and Westin. We did sleep better with Maria's help. Liked: The hotel has a very good location and room was comfortable and spacious.

Disliked: Overall the hotel was a bit old and could use a fresh up.

Disliked: They changed my hotel at the last minute, an hour before u was to show up to a place a mile away. I was taking my parents, who both use walkers, to specific locations near this hotel. Unhappy is an understatement. And I found out via an email.

Love this hotel and location. Rooms are very spacious and clean.

Disliked: Management was incompetent to deal with. I was actually the victim of fraud in that I was notified by Booking.com that someone with a different name using my credit card number was going to be staying at this hotel. I contacted the hotel and spoke to Maria about this and asked that this person be prevented from using that reservation and apprehended by the authorities if possible. She said she "investigated" and could not do anything to stop the fraud from occurring. As a result, I'm being charged for that stay even though I reported the fraud to Master Card and Booking.com. This should have been avoidable and reflects a lack of competence by management which will likely affect other guests' stays.

Liked: I like the location, restaurant/bar and staff. The restaurants and bar chef kiss 10/10

Disliked: Yes, the room was outdated depressing, toilet horrible very low water pressure, Decor of the room very old fashion, the sofa dirty and old. The bed was comfy but not the pillows. Shower did had good water pressure.
