The front desk and other hotel staff were nice, polite, and courteous. We also appreciated the assistant manager’s prompt first aid when my father had an accident. Unfortunately, our stay was seriously affected by an incident. My father slipped on the wet shower floor while bathing and washing his legs with soap. He lost his balance and hit his head on the corner of the bathtub, sustaining an open lacerated wound. We were concerned about the bathroom’s safety features. There was no anti-slip mat or anti-slip surface, and the grab bar was positioned too low to provide adequate support while standing. The manager acknowledged that the floor could be slippery when wet. We were subsequently told that an anti-slip mat was available upon request, but we had not been informed of this beforehand. When we requested one later that evening, the front desk told us that none was available, only a regular floor mat. Although staff called for an ambulance, none was readily available, and a taxi was offered instead. We appreciate the staff who assisted us, but this experience raised serious concerns about bathroom safety and the hotel’s preventive measures and emergency response. The breakfast buffet mainly offered Japanese cuisine. It was just so-so for us, although guests who enjoy Japanese food may appreciate the selection. The staff were pleasant, but our experience was overshadowed by the injury and the concerns surrounding it. We hope the hotel management addresses these safety issues seriously to help prevent similar incidents from happening to other guests.
