Tru by Hilton Buon Ma Thuot City Centre

I was traveling with my children to celebrate Vietnamese National Day... we arrived at the hotel at 22:20. The staff said the room had already been given away and charged for an extra room. My children and grandchildren — many of them — were with me. At that time it was late and the hotel insisted on strict procedures for foreigners entering the country, asking for accommodation information. My children and grandchildren are students studying in Vietnam. The staff in charge refused to accept our documents and would not let us stay, which made me very disappointed and surprised. I’ve stayed at this hotel regularly, two to three times a year... I had luggage and was with nine children/grandchildren. We left the hotel at 23:20. I had to go look for another place to sleep, asking Vietnamese drivers for help to find another guesthouse, which left me utterly disappointed. I did not expect a hotel of this level to show no concern for guests. If it were daytime I might not mind, but at that late hour my children and grandchildren were exhausted, sleepy, and very tired. This experience has been the biggest lesson in my travels: money spent was lost, but the hurt was worse. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Great location, beautiful rooms, very modern and tasteful, room rates surprisingly reasonable. Youthful style, suited to young people. Bed by the window with a view of the sky is a big plus.

Very easy to reach to any places in Buon Ma Thuot City. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Room was cozy and well cleaned even it is small. Will be back to this hotel again when I have chance to Buon Ma Thuot.

The rooms were cheerful and the staff were friendly. They kindly arranged a driver for us to visit Lak Lake and Dray Nur Falls. On the other hand, there were some unprofessional aspects: there was no hand soap in the room, and it only arrived after asking twice, and by 6:00 the breakfast wasn't fully set up. But since it was cheap, I can't really complain.

Disliked: - I don't like the humid smell of the toilet in the room - I understand that this is kinda the budget hotel brand of hilton, so it was not really surprised to me about the total space of the room but my friend was. It is quite small. - I don't really like the idea of the sink right at the door and outside the toilet... And apart from the toothbrush, the hotel doesnt provide any further utility. I was trying to find a shaver. - It is kinda weird to me that the room windows just face at each other, and I had to close the curtain all the time to ensure I have some privacy and that's why I can't have much natural light... - Breakfast very limited choice

Liked: The Reception staff are super friendly and helpful. Location is great, walking distance to plenty of good restaurants. Loved the town and friendly people. Breakfast was simple but good, just would have liked to see a better coffee. Also liked the big window in the room.
