United Hotel

The location just nearby Taipei Dome, is convenience when you have concert in Taipei Dome just a few mins walk. However the staff service soso during overall stay. If there is no concert during the stay/visit, you might skip this.

The hotel’s location is excellent — right across from the Taipei Dome and the newly opened shopping mall Garden City. It’s only a one- to two-minute walk to the MRT station. It’s about a four-minute walk to Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, and there are many distinctive restaurants nearby. The room has been recently renovated and is quite clean. The only downside was that the water pressure and temperature in the bathroom were a bit weak. The bed is high and supportive, very comfortable to sleep on. I was on a lower floor with the window facing the road, but it wasn’t noisy; the soundproofing is good. I very much appreciated that the staff helped open doors and were very polite. There is also a fairly large area in front of the hotel for parking.

Agoda caused a lot of trouble. Agoda said that due to staff shortages they hadn’t updated the reservation number, so the hotel couldn’t find the booking and my family in Taiwan had to make several trips to the hotel. Agoda customer service even told me they hadn’t asked me to go to the hotel in person to confirm — speechless. I deliberately paid extra to book a twin room, and the front desk said they’d try to arrange it but that confirmation depended on communication between Agoda and the hotel. Stayed in room *** — the air conditioning was set to the max but it was still very hot and cramped. The TV kept cutting out so we couldn’t watch it. Breakfast choices were limited.

The guest room is in desperate need of renovation, specially the carpet.

Disliked: Issues with drainage, causing constant flooding during shower

I had booked and paid through Agoda in advance. When we arrived at the hotel on check-in day, we discovered that Agoda had not sent the reservation to the hotel as expected. We had booked three double rooms, but the hotel had only received a booking for one double room. It took 2–3 hours of back-and-forth with Agoda to resolve the issue; fortunately the customer service representative who helped was very cooperative. After learning the details, the hotel staff also helped by holding available rooms while waiting for Agoda’s confirmation. The hotel itself is very nice, but this was my first time encountering a booking issue with Agoda. If we hadn’t arrived early to handle it in person, it would have been a real waste of time and it definitely affected our mood for the trip.

Location is great, near station. the staff are very nice. Room is clean. Only that the curtain needs to close manually and no master light switch and have to switch off lights one by one.

Very good hotel. Clean, comfortable, and convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended! 👍
