Urban Chic - Exeter

Liked: The location of the apartment is the only positive about this apartment. It is close to everything central and a walking distance to all the sights, but that is if you value only location above the quality of the apartment.

Disliked: Apart from the Location of this apartment, everything else is absolutely terrible. Dirty floors under beds and drawers (superficial cleaning), almost nothing was functional, the apartment is marketed as a luxury apartment, but it is old, floorboards falling apart, washing machines and dishwasher not working. After reporting this, all the did was apologise, then send someone to look busy like he was trying to repair and said it could not be repaired. They were clearly aware these equipments were not functioning. We are a large family with children and couldn't do laundry and use dishwasher. You can picture what that is like. Then the host are absolutely terrible with communication or instructions. We arrived and a cleaner gave us the key. Prior to check out the only instruction was to shut the door behind us and leave at 10am. I left the key in the mail box before leaving as there was no instruction on what to do with it. The host sent a barrage of messages and calls, insisting that if the key cannot be found they would charge me for the lost key. absolutely ridiculous people. they were not the least bit concerned about the service or that our stay was terrible.

Liked: Location was excellent

Disliked: Needs a good deep clean & a bit of TLC

Liked: The location is fantastic. Quiet street between the Strand and Covent Garden. Also, unusually for London it is a very large airy apartment. Lots of space. Well equipped and with the advantage of 2 bathrooms.

Disliked: The main problem was the heating. It was freezing. It appeared that the hosts/manager was well aware of this as the doors are wedged open to try and get heat in from the bathroom, and thermostats were set to 32 degrees - but result was more like 15 degrees. The sofa bed was also very uncomfortable. The place has been very nice but is now a bit knocked about with doors not fitting, squeaking, etc. The front door to the street did not close easily. People kept leaving it open, which creates a security issue. More maintenance required!

Liked: The location was fab! The apartment was lovely and spacious.

Disliked: The service was horrendous. We had NO Wi-Fi or TV during the whole of our stay! We reported the issue within hours of arriving and no one came to resolved the problem. Staff were rude on the phone. Really disappointing.

Liked: Location was good

Disliked: Last minute booking arriving after 8pm. Hadn’t received number to open key lockbox. One bedroom had a sheet on the bed with a blood stain. Apartment was cold and there weren’t any spare blankets or duvets.

Liked: Great location to covet garden and china town. The apartment is spacious.

Disliked: The apartment could put a little more effort into touching the bathroom up. Cabinets are falling out and multiple terrible tears and wears. It was advertised as 2 bedrooms and 2 bath apartment but when we got there, one of the bathrooms had the out of order sign. It wasn’t communicated to us prior to arrival at all. The 8 of us had to use just 1 bathroom (which definitely needs an upgrade and the sink was very clogged) No baby crib was not set up even though that was an additional charge. Host also charged some of additional fees on our card without communicating.

Liked: The size of the apartment and location cannot be faulted. It was in an amazing location. On a quiet street but super close to all the shops and restaurants.

Disliked: Poor communication with hosts. No fry pan to cook in kitchen. No power points in bathroom to blow dry your hair. Internet was poor and kept cutting in and out. Issue with wall vent that had fallen off and noticed as soon as we arrived. Let the host know and it wasn’t fixed or even acknowledged when I sent my concerns through via message. Very dangerous with our 3 young children. As you are so close to the Main Street and theatres the bedrooms stay quite bright and lit up at night. There is a blind but it doesn’t do much to block out the light. We also paid for early check in and check in instructions were chased and sent 30 minutes after our check in time. Super frustrating when you’re paying extra for a service!

Liked: prime location. big apartment comfotable facilities

Disliked: The service from the service center was problematic. The entry code was received only after contacting them in the hours before check-in. When there was a problem entering the apartment, there was no reasonable phone response and no one was available to help on-site. Small issues such as no face towels. No place to hang towels in the bathroom. Leaking sink. there is no elevator
