“Misleading 5 star rating”
While this property advertises itself as a 5-star establishment, the overall guest experience falls significantly short of international luxury standards. Aside from a few bright spots, the lack of basic hospitality features, unmanned facilities, restrictive hours, and poor room layouts make it feel more like a mid-tier self-service residence than a true luxury hotel. 1. Highlights: Excellent Seafood Buffet at M Café To give credit where it is due, the seafood buffet at M Café was fantastic. The selection was of high quality, and the staff service in the café was attentive and professional. Unfortunately, this was the only dining highlight, as the property overall lacks the 3 distinct, full-service restaurant options expected of a 5-star rating. 2. Cramped Room Layout for Three Guests The room layout is poorly optimized for triple occupancy. When an extra bed was placed in the room, it severely compromised the space, heavily restricting the seating area and making the living space feel cramped and uncomfortable. 3. Unmanned Health Club & Restrictive Hours The health club facilities lack true luxury management. The gym is completely unmanned with no dedicated staff or 24-hour access. Furthermore, the swimming pool has surprisingly short operating hours (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM) and closes completely during lunchtime for cleaning—shutting down key leisure amenities during peak day hours is unacceptable. 4. Impractical Locker System & Safety Hazards The logistics surrounding the wellness and sauna facilities are frustrating and poorly designed: No Locker Access After 6:00 PM: Because locker keys are only distributed from the rooftop pool desk, once the pool closes at 6:00 PM, you cannot get a locker key at all. Evening gym and sauna users are left with nowhere secure to store their belongings. Inconvenient Layout: To use the sauna located on the basement floor, you are forced to travel all the way up to the rooftop pool just to pick up a locker key. Safety Issue: The locker keys provided are made of conductive material that heats up excessively in the sauna, burning your arm while you try to relax. Verdict: While the seafood buffet at M Café is commendable, it cannot make up for cramped rooms, unmanned facilities, early closures, and absurd locker logistics. Travelers expecting full-service 5-star hospitality in Hong Kong will be deeply disappointed.

“The cost-performance ratio is average, but the location is suitable and the pool is quite good.”
There is a large family vacation during the holidays, so I can't say the cost-performance ratio is very good. The room is relatively spacious for Hong Kong, featuring a balcony with a sea view. The pool's view of the sea and sky is quite nice. However, there are some drawbacks: 1 - The twin beds in the room are very narrow, only 1 meter wide, which is uncomfortable for families with children. 2 - Check-in time is at 3 PM, while most hotels have it at 2 PM, which is too late for check-in.

“All about the pool”
I considered this hotel more like 4-star than its supposedly 5-star designation until I went to the pool, which had the best view of any rooftop pool I’ve ever been to plus perfectly comfortable water in September. My friend and I spent 2.5 hours in the water there, alongside all other kinds of guests. Note no F&B served at the pool. Other hotel highlights were overall cleanliness and staff responsiveness. I was disappointed by several problems upon checkin including my TV eventually needing an engineer to come fix it, and the room service menu being on the TV I couldn’t use, but staff were fast with each round of troubleshooting. Hotel is about a 5-minute walk to Sai Kung Town, which is needed, because you can tell it tries to act kind of resort like but doesn’t measure up enough on anything but pool and room size. Breakfast was bigger selection than most hotels in HK’s real estate crunch but you could tell a lot of it was pre frozen or purchased baked goods instead of from scratch. You could get better breakfast at Little Cove in town if not in a rush. Lots of hotel quirks such as my disabled room having fully accessible bathroom but then you need to take escalators and stairs to go everywhere you need to in the hotel, and the nightstand drawers are far enough from the bed that you have to get out of bed to open them. My cheapest tier room was right next to the hotel’s car pull-in area. I had to use privacy blinds at all times. There are two gyms in the hotel building and the worse one is for the hotel guests. The other is apparently one for members not staying at the hotel to use. You need to walk past guest rooms between the lobby and elevator at least for the Peak tower, something I don’t think I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Lastly, if you stay here definitely take the shuttle between the hotel and Hang Hau station.

“Would not come back for a 2nd visit”
At a rather premium positioning line of the IHG collection, I’d expect the overall facilities and amenities to be better off to match travellers’ expectations, key questions incl: - A $3000 HKD deposit sounds too overwhelming for a room priced at around $1k HKD - Pool opening hours is such a bummer - it’s closing at 6pm and opening at 9am while noting that 3pm and 12nn being the check-in and check-out time. Meaning that there’s only a 6-hour window for guests to use this facility - we were offered an upgrade to a balcony type of room - yet the overall design makes us feel super weird, esp at night without any sunlight penetration the room feels so dark and even a bit spooky - we requested for a change to the standard type of room afterwards and it was apparently better.
