Zion View Ella Green Retreat

I loved my trip and this part of the stay. Amazing view, hospitality and breakfast

Had an amazing stay for 2 nights at Zion View and the view is stunning from the hotel and it's just a walk down to the town and heaps of restaurants and stores. Staffs are super nice and very helpful and caring. Bonus we went with our 3 year old and he loved the kids play area the hotel has. Breakfast is also so yummy and variety to choose from. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Ella

A good stay in Ella considering location and stuff behaviour. Goutom served us well. Food is good but price is comparatively higher than the value we received.

Liked: Our two-night stay at Zion Ella was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our entire Sri Lankan holiday! If there is one reason I would recommend staying at Zion Ella, it would have to be the absolutely breathtaking views. The scenery is simply spectacular, and waking up to those beautiful surroundings was an experience in itself. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit, relax, and admire the natural beauty of Ella. We had booked two family rooms, both equipped with bunk beds, which turned out to be fantastic for the children! They absolutely loved the setup and had a wonderful time moving between the rooms and enjoying their own little space. It made the stay particularly enjoyable for our families. The hospitality was another major highlight. Every member of the team was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable. The level of care and attention we received throughout our stay was excellent, and we truly appreciated the effort everyone put in. We also had a small birthday celebration during our stay, and the team kindly arranged a cake for us. They even joined in singing during breakfast that morning, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made the occasion extra special. These little moments are what make a holiday memorable, and we are genuinely grateful to the staff for making it happen. Dinner was excellent, and the overall dining experience was very enjoyable. The property also has a lovely swimming pool, which we were unfortunately unable to use because of the rainy weather during our visit. Nevertheless, the beautiful surroundings and views more than made up for One important point for future guests, particularly elderly travellers or anyone with mobility concerns: The hotel is located along a steep access road, and depending on the type of vehicle you’re travelling in, it may not be possible to drive all the way up. A tuk-tuk may be necessary for getting to and from the property.

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. The view from the room was spectacular. I loved the balcony and the featured hammock which overlooked the stunning mountain. The massage at the spa was top notch. I loved having the egg hopper and fresh fruit like papaya and pineapple for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this getaway to anyone looking for some quiet relaxing time away from all the noise. It was an unforgettable experience for sure. Thanks!

Liked: The most amazing views from almost every part of the hotel. The breakfast was good and varied slightly each day. Staff were friendly and helpful. They even cooked some 'real' bacon for our son. Laundry service was super helpful and cheap, and returned within the day. The onsite massages were lovely, although the rooms are not very private.

Disliked: We knew this when we booked, but the location is up a very steep hill and our driver's car was not able to make it up there. The hotel shuttle was able to come and collect us and our luggage from the main road. However, the shuttle is not for regular use and you then must use a Tuktuk (paid). So, if you have mobility issues then the location might not be suitable. Also, the hotel has a lot of steps as it's on the side of a hill.

Liked: The view is spectacular and it was awesome to be able to hike directly to Ella Rock from the hotel. Breakfast buffet was plentiful. Three bedroom apartment also had three bathrooms which was a real bonus.

Disliked: The road the hotel is steep and narrow for our mini-van. Our local driver did not enjoy our choice in hotel. Smaller vehicles are more suited. We had the three bedroom apartment with kitchen but oddly no cooking equipment, plates, glasses etc were provided in case you expect this. We did ask for glasses and plates and they were provided.
