About this activity
No trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to its most famous building and the best thing to do when you visit the Sydney Opera House is to come inside and see an opera performance.
This performance has English and Simplified Chinese surtitles.
What to expect
Sydney Opera House
Bennelong Point, Easy walk from Circular Quay Train Station, Sydney, New South Wales, 2000, Australia
Stroll down to the Sydney Opera House and make your way into the Joan Sutherland Theatre for a relaxed 90‑minute concert of opera favourites performed by some of Opera Australia’s finest singers, accompanied by piano. It's a bucket‑list experience, with excellent views and acoustics throughout the theatre. The atmosphere is welcoming and informal, making it a great choice for both opera fans and newcomers. The pianist acts as a charming host, introducing each piece with context and humour, ensuring an engaging and beginner‑friendly experience. English and Simplified Chinese surtitles are projected above the stage for ease of understanding. The concert runs for approximately 90 minutes, including one 20‑minute interval, allowing you to enjoy a drink or the harbour views during the break.

Printing your voucher will not be necessary. Please arrive early to avoid rushing. Ushers will close the doors at show time and latecomers will not be let in until a suitable pause in the performance.
