What to expect
After meeting your tour conductor, hop on the comfortable bus and travel to Numazu. Enjoy a lunch featuring kamameshi topped with golden eye snapper. Kamameshi is a traditional Japanese rice dish cooked in an individual pot, allowing the flavors of the ingredients to infuse into the rice. You will also take part in an mandarin orange packing challenge, where you can fit as many oranges as possible into the provided bag. The bag measures approximately 15 cm × 25 cm.
After approximately 50 minutes, arrive to the maple forest of Shuzenji Nature Park, widely regarded as one of Izu's most famous autumn foliage destinations. Enjoy free time to stroll through a forest of approximately 1,000 maple trees, which create a spectacular display of red, orange, and gold during the autumn season. The walking paths allow you to experience the colors up close while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the surrounding landscape. Autumn foliage is typically at its best from mid-November through early December.
Mentai Park Izu
753-1 Tsukamoto, Kannami-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture, 419-0124, Japan
After approximately 20 minutes, continue to Mentai Park Izu. This themed facility is dedicated to seasoned pollock roe, one of Japan's most popular seafood specialties. Enjoy time to browse local products, souvenirs, and regional foods.
Mishima Skywalk
313 Sasahara Shinden, Mishima, Shizuoka Prefecture, 411-0012, Japan
After approximately 20 minutes, arrive at Mishima Skywalk, Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge. Stretching 400 meters (1,312 feet) across a valley, the bridge offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and autumn foliage. During the fall season, colorful forests spread beneath the bridge, creating a spectacular perspective that can only be appreciated from above. On clear days, you may also enjoy views of Mt. Fuji, though visibility depends on weather conditions. Autumn foliage is typically at its best from mid-November through early December. As part of the tour, you will receive 2 local take-home gifts: approximately 1 kg of oranges from the packing experience and a dried seafood set including 1 golden eye snapper, 1 barracuda, and 2 horse mackerel. You will also receive a Noppo Bread, a beloved Shizuoka snack bread, as a light evening meal. After sightseeing, begin the return journey to Tokyo with arrival at approximately 6:30 PM.
